  1. Thank you for this page! You have some amazing tangles and it is nice to have access to them all in one spot! I love reading the Zentangle blogs I follow but I've signed up for way too many of them to be able to troll through them for the posts containing instructions! How many of us have that problem, or is it just me!?
    Note to self: get back to the zen of this wonderful pastime and stop compulsively adding zentangle sites to my Bookmark bar! Do some more drawing.....

    2. Go to TanglePatterns.com for a really great list with links to step outs. You don't have to catalogue them yourself - Linda's got us all covered. She's amazing.

Always been an artsy/craftsy gal--but Zentangle is my new passion! My Mom tells me it's Gods' gift to me for having endured such pain. I agree! 3. Hi Gail,
      I haven't published the directions for Enact'd yet. If I tell you it's kind of related to Cadent and Dancet maybe you can figure it out!

    1. Dar, those three don't have links yet. I think Shades and Tri-dots should be easy enough to figure out. Enact'd, I admit, is a little trickier.

  8. Such a great collection of patterns, Margaret. Seeing all this great ideas in one spot is a inspirational. I use so many of these patterns and now I know who created them it will be even more fun! I think I'm going to do a big ZIA using just the patterns from this page plus jemz, the pattern that brought me here. Thanks so much for making that possible!

  11. So many of the patterns on here are ones I've taught myself and use time and time again but I never realised they were all yours. I could draw all day and never move off your patterns. Thank you for sharing them, they are a joy. (Mind you, I haven't "mastered" them all yet, but that's my plan.)

  14. Hello from Oklahoma, USA!! I started tangling just over a month ago and have been amazed at what a worldwide hobby it is. I just registered for an introduction class, so I am excited about that -- I need some guidance. The tangles you created are great!! I have seen a few of them on other websites.

  15. Love your tangles! I go to tanglepatterns.com to find new tangles that I might want on a new tile/picture. I have used five of your tangles just from looking at that site and liking the flow/look of that tangle. Today, I stopped and looked around your site again and loved seeing this page......I WILL USE EVERYONE OF YOUR TANGLES! I don't collect tangles. When I LIKE a tangle that I see, I find a way to use it, and keep it in my memory box to use again. Now I have three more to incorporate in this next piece I am doing. Have to follow you! THANK YOU FOR SHARING!

  16. I am so grateful I found your website. I have admired your work through the books and seeing your name mentioned a lot. I knew you had developed quite a few of the tangles I have practiced -but- wow! I had no idea it was so many. You are so generous to share with us the tangle and the steps.Thank you. I am fairly new to Zentangle and I am in awe how many wonderful artist have found a place to share their work and let us novices belong, learn and play. I found Zentangle when I was in a really bad place in my life and it has helped me more than I can say. It truly has saved my life. I thank everyone who has shared from Tanglepatterns to Pinterest/ Flicker and the many links and now this website.

  17. You are so helpful to this beginner - I have your book on using colour and love it, including the tangles. I also love that you live in Canada - I lived in Victoria for 3 years, and knew nothing of this art.

    1. Thank you! It's quite possible there is a Certified Zentangle Teacher in your area. You could look on the Zentangle website to check. You're probably thinking of Marie Browning regarding the book on color. She does live on Vancouver Island!

  20. difference between zentangle and geodooling (http://gravitram.com/GEODOOLING/geodooling.htm

    )

    1. From what I can tell, there is almost no similarity between zentangle and geodooling. Apparently they are both done on a square surface and use shapes in some way or other. I also am confused by the website as to whether it's called geodooling, geodoodling, or geodoling.

      Zentangle does not use digital technology; it's all done by hand (paper, pencil, pen). While the website mentions paper and pencil, all the examples are computer-generated. Zentangle is not preplanned in your head, rather, one goes with the flow, accepts "oops"es and works with them, and receives a lovely surprise when it's finished.

      I was unaware of geodooling (?) before. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.
